frequently asked questions

A full service photographer provides just that: full service from start to finish. This means that I tailor my sessions to every individual client and family, and I am with you during every step of the process.

I meet with or Facetime/Skype with every client for a pre-session planning appointment, during which we discuss location, attire, what to expect and how to prepare. We will also talk about what you plan to do with the prints from your session - where you will display those in your home, the color scheme of the rooms where you will hang prints, whether you are gifting prints to family members, and even the sizes of the walls you plan to fill. I provide wardrobe guidance and will even provide links to outfits for you to purchase for your session if you so desire.

During the session, I provide detailed instruction and position my clients in the most flattering poses for their body type, then provide detailed direction and pull back to document the resulting emotion and interactions. There will never be any wondering about what to do or where to put your hands, etc., because I will always tell you exactly what to do.

After your session, we will meet for your In Person Reveal Appointment. During this appointment, all decision-makers should be present as this is when you will choose your favorite images and decide which Print Packages you wish to purchase. Once you have chosen your images and selected and paid for your Print Package, your prints will be ordered. *Payment plans are available upon request. If a payment plan is arranged, prints will be ordered upon final payment.

When your prints and products are finished, I will hand-deliver them to you at your home (within Greater Kansas City.)

what does “full service photographer” mean?

Session fees cover my time and talent in preparing for, taking and editing your images, as well as equipment costs, insurance, studio costs, payment for my assistant, your Pre-session Planning Meeting and your In Person Reveal Appointment.

what is included in my session fee?

Your session fee does not include any digital images or print products. In most cases, your session fee DOES include a print credit to be used toward your purchase of a print package.

Your session fee also includes your In Person Reveal Appointment. During your Reveal Appointment, we will review your final images together and discuss Print Packages in detail over wine and light hors d’oeuvres. It is at this point that you will select your favorite images and order your Print Packages and Products. Most of my clients invest between $900-$2000 total, including session fee and prints or products.

I'm so glad you asked. Check out my WHAT TO WEAR Pinterest Boards for Couples, Families, Expecting Mamas and High School Seniors, and follow me while you're over there. Know that I am here to help you every step of the way. Comfort and personality are key to a great photo session, so for starters - DON'T choose to wear something you don't genuinely like. Your discomfort will transfer to your photos, and I promise that nobody wants that. I am happy to weigh in on outfit selection, color schemes, etc.!
