Wedding Photographer in Kansas City

Hi there. You’re here because you need a wedding photographer. Kansas City is home to literally thousands, and if there’s anything your recent engagement has taught you, it’s probably that it’s time to make #allthedecisions. (And that PEOPLE HAVE OPINIONS ABOUT WEDDINGS.)

I’m glad you found your way here, and if you were referred by someone please make sure to tell me who to thank!

If you’ve taken any time to scout my little corner of the interwebs here, you’ve probably got a pretty clear idea of my Kansas City wedding photography style, but it’s important to be clear about the way I work and the images I produce because the truth is that every wedding photographer is not right for every couple. I’d rather get all that cleared up before we ever meet, and save us all some of the most precious commodity we have: time.

I love weddings, and my primary objective on any wedding day is to document the way your wedding day feels, while protecting your memories and peace. I love a perfectly composed image as much as the next photographer, and I’ll do my best to deliver gorgeous images you can be proud of.

But it’s far more important to me that when you look back on the only record left from your wedding day, you are swept into the emotion of the moments that transpired. I don’t want you remembering the way I positioned your left arm, or the way I was all up in your business while you were having an emotional moment with your mom.

Ew. No thanks.

I consider a wedding day a wild success when I am able to document all the pretty and emotional moments without taking the stage or distracting you, your families, your wedding party or your guests from the magnitude and joy of your marriage beginning. Yes, I’ll tell you where to put your hands and where to look when it gets down to it, but for the majority of your day I’ll be behind the scenes and hovering around the fringes to afford you some real, authentic moments with those you love.

Kansas City Wedding Photographer

The truth is, your love is real. The two of you are real, and your wedding images should reflect that. This is why I edit images the way I do: emotive, earthy and real, with true colors and contrast that compliments the emotion of your wedding day and tells your story.

There are plenty of other wedding photographers in Kansas City who edit with those incredibly warm, de-saturated tones and hardly any greens or reds. And I understand it, it can be beautiful! But it’s a trend in photography, and trends come and go.

When I’m working a wedding, I provide space and direction that enables you to be who you are, and I edit your images in a way that will translate to timeless family heirlooms you’ll pass down from generation to generation. Sure, I’ll capture photos where everyone is smiling at the camera, but the majority of your wedding day will be spent living your moments and cherishing time with your loved ones. I come to every wedding armed with prompts and ideas that will help you escape any anxiety and focus on being present with your people.

You need a wedding photographer who can engage with each member of your family and draw out their unique, beautiful personalities in a way that translates to photos.

That’s exactly what I achieve in every wedding gallery.

Wedding photos can be a source of anxiety and stress for everyone involved, but they don’t have to be. As your wedding photographer, my goal is to make a personal connection with each person in your wedding party and family. This focus frees all of you to be yourselves and relax, which translates to fantastic wedding photos.
